California Leads the Nation in Energy Incentives
California offers more energy rebate programs than any other state. Between CPUC mandated utility programs, SGIP, TECH Clean California, and CVRP, residents have access to tens of thousands in potential savings.
Top California Programs
Solar - NEM 3.0 + SGIP
While NEM 3.0 changed the economics of solar in California, the SGIP battery storage incentive remains one of the most valuable in the country. Income-qualified customers in fire-threat areas can receive battery storage at no cost. See solar rebates
Electric Vehicles - CVRP + CVAP
The California Clean Vehicle Rebate Project offers up to $4,500 for new EVs (more for low-income). The Clean Vehicle Assistance Program provides grants and financing for income-qualified buyers. See EV rebates
Heat Pumps - TECH Clean California
The Technology and Equipment for Clean Heating program offers up to $3,000 for switching from gas heating to heat pumps. Stacks with the federal 25C credit. See heat pump rebates
Utility Programs
California's major utilities (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, LADWP, SMUD) all offer extensive rebate programs for appliances, weatherization, and smart home devices. Programs vary by utility territory.
